I created this piece for two good friends of mine that live near Portland, Oregon.  They asked that I create a piece for a blank wall on their house.  They gave me a few items they would like, and I took a lot of inspiration from current art they had around their home that I previously created and other features in their home.

This started as three pieces of 14 gauge steel.  I took some soap stone and just started coloring to define the areas that I did not want to cut.  One inch stand offs made from steel tube were added to the back to add more definition.  We had the pieces powder coated to protect it from the Pacific Northwest Elements.  This allows work to be in direct weather with very little wear and tear to occur.

The whole piece appears to move as the sun moves across the piece.

Give me a torch and a propane tank and lets see what I can do with it.  This started out as one of those five gallon tanks common to back yard bbq's.  This is large enough for about a 3 foot diameter wall hanging sun.  But, you need to call ahead if you want to get one at a show; these are the first items to sell out. Sunflower was created with one piece of five foot long by five inches wide by 1/4" steel plate, and it is mounted on an old plow disc.  I cut each flower by hand with the plasma cutter, and then used the pieces to make the sunflower.  It is created from 100% reclaimed steel.

This is a great creation and was recently adopted by two of my close friends in Bellevue, Washington.

Betty is on the left and Chomper is next to her.

Betty is created from metal reclaimed from the folks who adopted Esther the Giraffe.  She is created from 100% reclaimed materials and will look great in your home or fit in nicely outside.

What do you get when someone approaches you with 40 old propane tanks?  If your me, you create a whole new line of critters, some may say aliens, with endless possibilities.  Chomper is created from a reclaimed 5 gallon propane tank that has been artfully sculpted into the top and bottom jaws.  Three inch pipe was used for the eye sockets and two inch pipe for the legs.  Set him inside or out.  My thought is to add a plant in his cavernous mouth.  Nice.  He is mounted on a plow disc and is 100% reclaimed steel.

Rudy is created from a propane tank for his body and a host of other reclaimed metal including: rebar, round bar, flat bar, brass bell, and a mowing machine guard.  He stands approximately six feet tall and is ready to work for you.  He would make an excellent hall butler or look great outside with a plant in his belly.

Esther has been adopted.  She is in a wonderful loving home of two kind souls I've known for a number of years.  I've created many special pieces for them, and they have such a harmonious setting where these critters roam free.

Esther is created from approximately 95% reclaimed steel.   Her body was created from a propane tank. Her legs are from two inch pipe, and her neck and head are three inch pipe.  I cut a giraffe pattern throughout each piece in bringing her to life.  She's wonderful.

This was a commission piece that I created from stainless steel for a home in Punta Gorda, Florda.  I had to drill a ton of holes and bolt all of the little pieces together.  It's about 3 feet square and around four inches thick.
